Commissioned by Bruce Peel Special Collection Library, University of Alberta, Edmonton, AB, designer binding for the first edition of Narrative of a Journey to the Shores of the Polar Sea in the Years 1819, 20, 21 and 22. To pay a tribute to the Aboriginal peoples that helped Franklin's expeditions for the binding I used dear skin and parchment prepared by Aboriginals. The book is bound in a simple manner resembling plain old journal. The book is wrapped in parchment on which the exact copy of the map of the expedition is drew using oak bark ink produced by Jack Thompson from Thompson Conservation Laboratory, Portland.
